Astana Square

Astana Square or Old Square, formerly known as Red Square and Lenin Square, is a city square in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is the second largest square in Kazakhstan, after Republic Square.

Kunaev Home Museum is a memorial museum and memorial apartments of the politician and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan Dinmukhamed Kunaev in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Dinmukhamed Kunayev Apartment Museum is situated 480 metres southeast of Astana Square.

Ascension Cathedral

The Ascension Cathedral, also known as Zenkov Cathedral, is a Russian Orthodox cathedral located in Panfilov Park in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Completed in 1907, the cathedral is made out of wood but without nails. Ascension Cathedral is situated 1 km northeast of Astana Square.

Köktöbe or Koktyube is a hill in Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city and former capital. At 1,100 meters above sea level, it is one of the main landmarks of the city and a symbol of Almaty. Kok Tobe is situated 3½ km southeast of Astana Square.
