Girvan is a seaside town in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland. With a population of 6330 in 2020, it has a long, sandy beach and expanded as a resort when the railway arrived in Victorian times.

Turnberry is a village 6 miles north of Girvan, in the civil parish of Kirkoswald, in the council area of South Ayrshire, Scotland. It has a golf resort called Turnberry which has three courses. In 1991 it had a population of 149. Turnberry is situated 4½ miles north of Girvan.
