Braintree Freeport railway station is on the Braintree Branch Line in the East of England, serving the Braintree Village shopping centre. It is 44 miles 16 chains down the line from London Liverpool Street via Witham and it is situated between Cressing to the south and Braintree to the north.

Bocking is a suburban village on the northern side of Braintree, in Essex, England. Bocking village was historically in two parts; the original settlement around the parish church became known as Bocking Churchstreet, while a separate linear settlement called Bocking grew up a little way to the south along Bradford Street and The Causeway, adjoining the northern edge of Braintree. Bocking Churchstreet is situated 1½ miles northwest of Deerleap Way.
