Frankendael is one of two remaining buitenplaats in Amsterdam. It comprises Huis Frankendael and the adjoining Park Frankendael in Watergraafsmeer. The house, located at Middenweg 72, is a historic country residence in Tuindorp Frankendaal. Frankendael is situated 300 metres north of Brug 448.

The Amstel Station is located within this area, which was built in 1939, and the tallest building in the neighbourhood is Rembrandt Tower, with a height of 150 metres.

The Watergraafsmeer is a polder in North Holland, Netherlands, reclaimed from the lake Diemermeer in 1629. In the 17th and 18th centuries, there were many buitenplaatsen in the Watergraafsmeer, though nowadays only one, Frankendael, remains.
