Namgyal Institute of Tibetology

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is a Tibet museum in Gangtok, Sikkim, India, named after the 11th Chogyal of Sikkim, Sir Tashi Namgyal. The institute employs researchers and one of its new research programs is a project which seeks to document the social history of Sikkim's approximated 60 monasteries and record this on a computer. Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is situated 2 km south of Paljor Stadium.

Do-drul Chorten

Do-drul Chorten is a stupa in Gangtok in the Indian state of Sikkim. Inside this stupa is a complete set of Dorjee Phurba, Kangyur and other religious objects. Do-drul Chorten is situated 2½ km south of Paljor Stadium.

Hanuman Tok

Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple complex which is located in the upper reaches of Gangtok, the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim. The temple is dedicated to lord Hanuman, and maintained by the Indian army. Hanuman Tok is situated 2½ km northeast of Paljor Stadium.

Gangtok is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The name Gangtok is derived from the Tibetan word for 'hillside,' and the city has a population of around 100,000 being a mixture of indigenous Sikkimese and people of Nepalese and Tibetan ancestry.
