Great Holland Pits

Great Holland Pits is a 16.2-hectare nature reserve east of Great Holland in Essex. It is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust. This area of former gravel pits has grassland, ancient woodland, ponds and wet depressions.

Holland Haven Marshes is a 208.8-hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-east of Clacton-on-Sea in Essex. It is an L-shaped site which stretches along the coast from Frinton-on-Sea to Holland-on-Sea, and then north along the Holland Brook.

Historically, Kirby Cross was a hamlet within the parish of Kirby-le-Soken, but since 1934 both settlements have been part of Frinton and Walton civil parish.
