Parliament House is the seat of the Parliament of South Australia, located on North Terrace in Adelaide city centre, and since 1889 the House of Assembly has been based at the building, with the Legislative Council being housed in the East Wing since 1939.

Adelaide railway station is the central terminus of the Adelaide Metro railway system. All lines approach the station from the west, and it is a terminal station with no through lines, with most of the traffic on the metropolitan network either departing or terminating here. Adelaide Railway Station is situated 130 metres west of Old Parliament House.
