Thurso Lifeboat Station is located at Scrabster Harbour, near the town of Thurso, in the administrative area of Highland, historically Caithness, on the north coast of mainland Scotland.

Holborn Head is a rocky headland on the north-facing Atlantic coast of Caithness, Scotland. It forms the western termination of Thurso Bay. The name Holborn apparently comes from the Old Norse Hóllborg, meaning "hill fort". Holburn Head Lighthouse is situated 1,800 feet northeast of St Ola House.
