The Port House is a Scottish class A listed building in the centre of Jedburgh. The Jedburgh Co-operative Store Company had been founded in 1866 and it operated from the Port House in Exchange Street. Port House is situated 2½ miles southeast of Ancrum West Mains.

The village — which currently has a population of around 300 — is situated just off the A68 trunk road on the B6400, which runs through Ancrum. Lilliesleaf lies 7 miles further along the B6400 and Denholm can be reached along the unclassified road which runs parallel to the River Teviot.
