Exeter College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in England, and the fourth-oldest college of the university. The college was founded in 1314 by two brothers from Devon, Bishop Walter Stapledon and Sir Richard Stapledon, as an institution to educate clergy, and has been located on Turl Street since 1315. Exeter College is situated 460 feet northeast of Jesus College.

Balliol College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford, England. Founded in 1263 by nobleman John I de Balliol, it has a claim to be the oldest college in Oxford and the English-speaking world. Balliol College is situated 600 feet north of Jesus College.

Founded in 1509 by Bishop of Lincoln William Smyth and Sir Richard Sutton, it traces its origins to an eponymous 13th-century medieval academic hall.
