Yr Aran is a mountain peak on a ridge radiating south from Snowdon, Wales' highest mountain, with views of the summit of Snowdon, Moel Hebog and the Nantlle Ridge.

Snowdon, or Yr Wyddfa, is a mountain in the Snowdonia region of North Wales. It has an elevation of approx. 1,085 metres above sea level, which makes it both the highest mountain in Wales and the highest in the British Isles south of the Scottish Highlands. Snowdon is situated 1½ miles north of Quarry Lower Reservoir.

Y Lliwedd is a mountain, connected to Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. Its summit lies 898 metres above sea level. The eastern flanks are steep cliffs rising above Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw. Y Lliwedd is situated 1½ miles northeast of Quarry Lower Reservoir.

Rhyd-ddu is a small village in Snowdonia, North Wales which is a starting point for walks up Snowdon, Moel Hebog, Yr Aran and the Nantlle Ridge. It lies on the A4085 4 miles north of Beddgelert, at its junction with the B4418 to Nantlle and Penygroes. Rhyd Ddu railway station is one of the stops on the Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog.

Nantmor is a hamlet which lies about 1½ miles to the south of the village of Beddgelert in Gwynedd, Wales. The current spelling of the name Nantmor is more modern – most old documents from the 16th to the 18th century record the name as Nanmor. Nantmor is situated 3½ miles south of Quarry Lower Reservoir.
