Mealista was a township in the west of the Isle of Lewis. It is currently largely uninhabited due to the Highland Clearances, which occurred there in 1838. The beach is a visitor attraction. Mealista is situated 4 miles northwest of Hamanavay House.

The name of the village is sometimes spelt Breanish, however maps normally refer to Brenish. Brenish is situated 4½ miles northwest of Hamanavay House.
