Picnic Island is a small, privately owned, rocky island, with an area of about one hectare, part of the Schouten Island Group, lying close to the eastern coast of Tasmania near the Freycinet Peninsula.

The Cape Tourville Lighthouse is an unmanned, automatic lighthouse built in 1971 by private contractors. The road was constructed through virgin eucalypt forest, along with the powerline, with minimal disruption to the National Park. Cape Tourville Lighthouse is situated 3½ km east of Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre.

The range is positioned between Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay and are said to be named after a local whaler, African-American Captain Richard Hazard. The Hazards is situated 3 km south of Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre.
