The City Botanic Gardens is a heritage-listed botanic garden on Alice Street, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was also known as Queen's Park. Brisbane City Botanic Gardens is situated 290 metres northeast of Z Block.

Parliament House in Brisbane is the meeting place of the Parliament of Queensland, housing its only chamber, the Legislative Assembly. It is located on the corner of George Street and Alice Street at Gardens Point in the CBD, and is next to the Queensland University of Technology and City Botanic Gardens. Parliament House is situated 270 metres north of Z Block.

HMAS Diamantina

HMAS Diamantina, named after the Diamantina River in Queensland, is a River-class frigate that served the Royal Australian Navy. Constructed in the mid-1940s, Diamantina was active from 1945 until 1946, was placed in reserve, then was recommissioned as a survey ship from 1959 until 1980. HMAS Diamantina is situated 470 metres south of Z Block.
