It is a station on the Cambrian Coast Railway with services between Shrewsbury and Pwllheli via Machynlleth. Penrhyndeudraeth railway station is situated 1,300 feet southwest of Hafod-y-wern.

Penrhyn railway station is situated 1,900 feet northwest of Hafod-y-wern.
