Howrah Station, also known as Howrah Junction, is a major railway station of Kolkata, which not only connects the city to the rest of India, but also acts as a major stopover to connect different destinations of West Bengal and beyond. Howrah Station is situated 100 metres west of Howrah Ghat.

The Howrah Bridge is a balanced steel bridge over the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. Commissioned in 1943, the bridge was originally named the New Howrah Bridge, because it replaced a pontoon bridge at the same location linking the both sides of cities of Kolkata. Howrah Bridge is situated 410 metres northeast of Howrah Ghat.
