The Lizard is a peninsula in West Cornwall in the South West. The name may be derived from the Cornish expression Lys Ardh, which means "High Court". The Lizard contains Britain's most southerly point, the Lizard Point.

It was often the welcoming beacon to persons returning to England, where on a clear night, the reflected light could be seen 100 mi away. Lizard Lighthouse is situated 2,200 feet northeast of Labham Rock.
