It is also a tertiary care teaching hospital of the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, the Yangon Institute of Nursing, and the University of Paramedical Science, Yangon. Yangon Central Women’s Hospital is situated 2,500 feet southwest of National Museum.

The Yangon Children's Hospital is a major public hospital in Yangon, Myanmar.The hospital was formerly known as "Jamatkhana Hospital" as the hospital was built on the site of former Gymkhana Club, an elite social club during colonial eras.
