Craggaunowen is an archaeological open-air museum in eastern County Clare, Ireland. It is named for the 16th-century castle which is one of its main components. Craggaunowen Castle is situated 200 metres southwest of Craggaunowen.

Westropp as one of the 195 "lesser castles", or peel towers, of County Clare in 1899, by which time it was already a ruin. Ballymarkahan Castle is situated 3 km west of Craggaunowen.
