Eskdalemuir is a civil parish and small village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, with a population of 265. It is around 10 miles north-west of Langholm and 10 miles north-east of Lockerbie. Eskdalemuir is situated 5 miles east of Dryfehead.

Beattock is a village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, approximately 1⁄2 mile southwest of Moffat and 19 miles north of Dumfries. Beattock was historically served by the A74 road and the West Coast Main Line, however the road has since been upgraded to the A74 motorway and no longer passes through the village. Beattock is situated 6 miles west of Dryfehead.
