The Silverdome is an indoor sporting and entertainment venue located in Launceston, Tasmania. The capacity of the venue is 5,000. When it was built in 1984, it was Australia's first indoor velodrome. Silverdome is situated 1 km southeast of Ingamells Reserve.

Duck Reach Power Station was the first publicly owned hydro-electric plant in the Southern Hemisphere, and provided the Tasmanian city of Launceston with hydro-electric power from its construction in 1895 to its closure in 1955.
