Ploshchad Tukaya is a station of the Kazan Metro. Opened as part of the first stage of the system on 27 August 2005, it is located in very center of the city, and is named after the square which carries the name of the famous Tatar poet Ğabdulla Tuqay. Gabdulla Tukay Square is situated 250 metres southeast of Tukay Square.

The Old Tatar Quarter is a historical area in the southern part of the Vakhitovsky district in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia. The quarter stretches from northwest to southeast and is located between Lake Nizhniy Kaban and the Bolaq channel in the east, the southern intracity railway tracks in the west, the Central Market in the north and Vakhit Square in the south.
