Maiwand Lion

The Maiwand Lion is a sculpture and in the , a public park in the town of , in the county of . The statue was named after the Battle of Maiwand and was unveiled in December 1886 to commemorate the deaths of 329 men from the 66th Regiment of Foot during the campaign in the Second Anglo-Afghan War in between 1878 and 1880.
