Asola is a comune in the province of Mantua, Lombardy. It received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree of October 23, 1951. In 1516, when it was part of the Republic of Venice, it was unsuccessfully besieged by the troops of the Austrian Maximilian I. Asola is situated 220 metres southeast of Piazza Mangeri.
