Saint Joseph University of Beirut is a private Catholic research university in Beirut, Lebanon, founded in 1875 by French Jesuit missionaries and subsidized by the Government of France during the time when Lebanon was under Ottoman rule. Saint Joseph University of Beirut is situated 670 metres northeast of Al Basta.

Beit Beirut is a museum and urban cultural center dedicated to portraying the history of Beirut, with a particular focus on the Lebanese Civil War. Housed in the restored Barakat building, also known as the "Yellow House," this historic landmark was designed by Youssef Aftimus. Beit Beirut is situated 450 metres east of Al Basta.
