The Repentance Tower is a very rare example of a mid-16th century watch tower standing on Trailtrow Hill, six miles north-west of Annan, Dumfries and Galloway. Repentance Tower is situated 2,600 feet north of Uppermoor.

Ecclefechan is a village located in Dumfries and Galloway in the south of Scotland. The village is famous for being the birthplace of Thomas Carlyle. Ecclefechan lies in the valley of the Mein Water, a tributary of the River Annan, 6+1⁄4 miles south of Lockerbie, five miles north of Annan and eight miles northwest of the English border. Ecclefechan is situated 3 miles northeast of Uppermoor.
