The Rodings are a group of eight villages in the upper part of the River Roding and the west of Essex, England, the largest group in the country to bear a common name.

Abbess Roding is a village and former civil parish that is located in the west of the county of Essex, 5 miles north from Chipping Ongar, and 9 miles west from the county town of Chelmsford. Abbess Roding is situated 1½ miles southwest of Meghills.
