The Auckland War Memorial Museum, also known as Auckland Museum, is one of New Zealand's most important museums and war memorials. Its neoclassical building constructed in the 1920s and 1950s, stands on Observatory Hill, the remains of a dormant volcano, in the Auckland Domain, near Auckland CBD. Auckland War Memorial Museum is situated 330 metres west of Old Parnell Tunnel.

The Parnell Tunnel is a railway tunnel under Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand. It is 344.5 metres long, and is on the Newmarket Line. The tunnel allows the Western and Southern lines coming from Newmarket Train Station to Britomart to pass under the Parnell Ridge before dropping to harbour level.
