Maeshowe is a Neolithic chambered cairn and passage grave situated on Mainland Orkney, Scotland. It was probably built around 2800 BC. In the archaeology of Scotland, it gives its name to the Maeshowe type of chambered cairn, which is limited to Orkney. Maeshowe is situated 1¼ miles west of Mid House.

Buckle's Tower is a historic stone-built tower upon the Hill of Heddle in Firth, Orkney. The tower was originally built sometime during the 1870s by a local shepherd boy named William Buckle who watched the sheep on the Hill of Heddle. Buckle’s Tower is situated 4,100 feet east of Mid House.
