Penzance is the most south-westerly town in West Cornwall. Famous for its association with the Gilbert and Sullivan opera The Pirates of Penzance, the town is an ideal base for exploring the Penwith area of Cornwall.

St Ives is a seaside town on the north coast of West Cornwall, near Penzance. In 2011 its population was 11,226. This fishing village grew up into a seaside resort, and has long attracted artists.

Helston is a small market town in the south west of Cornwall which is famous for its Flora Day celebrations and Furry Dance. It is the most southerly town in mainland United Kingdom, and it acts as a gateway to the Lizard Peninsula.

Marazion is small coastal village near Penzance in West Cornwall. The tidal island of St Michael's Mount is half-a-mile offshore. At low water a causeway links it to the town and at high water passenger boats carry visitors between Marazion and St Michael's Mount.

Porthleven is near Helston on the south coast of West Cornwall at the top of the Lizard Peninsula. The South West Coast Path from Somerset to Dorset passes through the town.

Lizard

The Lizard is a peninsula in West Cornwall in the South West. The name may be derived from the Cornish expression Lys Ardh, which means "High Court". The Lizard contains Britain's most southerly point, the Lizard Point.
St Buryan

Cadgwith is a small fishing village in West Cornwall, on the Lizard Peninsula between The Lizard and Coverack. Cadgwith has long been popular as a holiday destination, especially during the summer when there are numerous local events: gig racing days, summer barbecues, a regatta, Morris dancing, musical bands, and regular singing by the Cadgwith Singers in the public house.
