Yarte
Yarte is a Syrian village in the Latakia Governorate. According to the Syrian general census 2004, it had 902 inhabitants. The village was part of the Ugaritic kingdom and was mentioned as Yʿrt in the archives of the city c. 1200 BC.| Tap on a place to explore it |

Mahalibeh Castle, formerly known as Balatanos or Balatunus, is located on a high mountain summit near Lattakia, 40 km inland of the Syrian coast. The Mahalibeh Castle is also an inhabited place, administratively part of the Jawbat Burghal subdistrict of the Qardaha District of Latakia Governorate. Mahalibeh Castle is situated 3½ km east of Yarte.
