Maroun al-Ras is a municipality nestled in Jabal Amel in the district of Bint Jbeil in the Nabatiye Governorate in southern Lebanon. It is located around 120 km south east of Beirut, roughly one km from the border with Israel. Maroun al-Ras is situated 3 km southwest of Aitaroun.

Aynata is a municipality in Lebanon. It is located in the southern part of the country. It is a stronghold for Hezbollah and during the war with Israel in 2006, about 60% of the homes in the town were destroyed. Aynata is situated 3½ km northwest of Aitaroun.
