Tolquhon Castle

Tolquhon Castle is located in Aberdeenshire, north-east Scotland. It lies about 1.5 miles north-west of Pitmedden, and 2 miles south of Tarves. The castle was built by William Forbes, 7th Laird of Tolquhon, between 1584 and 1589 as an extension to the earlier tower house known as Preston's Tower. Tolquhon Castle is situated 1½ miles south of Tarves.

Haddo House is a Scottish stately home located near Tarves in Aberdeenshire, approximately 20 miles north of Aberdeen. The former seat of the Earls and Marquesses of Aberdeen and Temair, Haddo House has been owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1979. Haddo House is situated 2 miles north of Tarves.
