MacLellan’s Castle

MacLellan's Castle in the town of Kirkcudbright, in Galloway, Scotland, was built in the late 16th century. It stands in the centre of Kirkcudbright, on the south side of the River Dee which flows into the Solway Firth. MacLellan’s Castle is situated 2 miles south of Tarff Water.

Bridge of Dee, Galloway is a settlement on the River Dee, Galloway. It lies on the A75 just west of Castle Douglas, and north-east of Kirkcudbright. The former Kirkcudbright Railway, linking Kirkcudbright with Castle Douglas, passed through the village. Bridge of Dee is situated 4½ miles northeast of Tarff Water.
