Comlongon Castle is a tower house dating from the later 15th century or early 16th century. It is located 1 kilometre west of the village of Clarencefield, and 10 kilometres south-east of Dumfries, in south west Scotland. Comlongon Castle is situated 1½ miles northwest of Ruthwell.

Bankend is a village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is located near Lochar Water, the civil parish Caerlaverock and the villages of Blackshaw, Glencaple and Shearington. In 1961 it had a population of 79. Bankend is situated 4½ miles west of Ruthwell.
