Choiseul

Choiseul District is one of the 10 districts of the island nation of . Located on the southwestern side of the island, the district is home to 6,130 people, according to the 2019 census.

The are two mountainous volcanic plugs, volcanic spires, located in . Petit Piton is 743 m high and Gros Piton is 798.25 m high; they are linked by the Piton Mitan ridge. is situated 2½ miles west of Choiseul.

Soufrière is a town on the West Coast of , in the eastern . The town and the surrounding district has a population of 7,935. It was colonized by the French and was the original capital of the island.

was originally known as Anse Citron, and an independent parish was established in 1765. In 1769 a census was done and recorded 75 whites, 25 free coloured, 512 negroes and 69 estates in . is situated 2½ miles southwest of Choiseul.
