Bear Island
Bear Island is an 11-acre island in Maine, United States. It is one of the five islands of the Town of Cranberry Isles. The island is located just off Northeast Harbor and south of Mount Desert Island. Bear Island Light is a lighthouse on Bear Island near Mt. Desert Island, at the entrance to Northeast Harbor, Maine. It was first established in 1839. The present structure was built in 1889.
