Maroun al-Ras is a municipality nestled in Jabal Amel in the district of Bint Jbeil in the Nabatiye Governorate in southern Lebanon. It is located around 120 km south east of Beirut, roughly one km from the border with Israel. Maroun al-Ras is situated 2½ km northeast of Kroum ej Jorn.

Bint Jbeil is the second largest municipality in the Nabatiye Governorate in Southern Lebanon. The town has an estimated population of 30,000. Its exact population is unknown, because Lebanon has not conducted a population census since 1932. Bint Jbeil is situated 3½ km north of Kroum ej Jorn.
