The Great Mosque of Aleppo, also known as the Great Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo, was the largest and one of the oldest mosques in the city of Aleppo, Syria, first built during the Umayyad Caliphate. Great Mosque of Aleppo is situated 450 metres southeast of Baladīyat Ḩalab.
Bab al-Jinan
Ruins
Bab al-Jinan, meaning the Gate of Gardens, was one of the gates of Aleppo that used to lead to gardens on the banks of the Quwēq river. The gate is thought to have been built by Sayf al-Dawla during his possession of Aleppo between 944 and 967. Bab al-Jinan is situated 160 metres southwest of Baladīyat Ḩalab.
