The Ancient City of Bosra is an archaeological site located in the city of Bosra, Syria. The site illustrates the Roman, Byzantine and Muslim civilizations, and was inscribed by UNESCO on the list of World Heritage Sites in 1980. The Al-Omari Mosque of Bosra is a mosque in the Roman Ancient city of Bosra, Syria, a World Heritage Site. The mosque was founded by Caliph Umar, who led the Muslim conquest of Syria in 636 CE, and it was completed in 721 CE by Caliph Yazid II. Mosque of Omar is situated 150 metres north of Ma‘bad Ḩūrīyāt al Mā’.
