The Umayyad Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Damascus, located in the old city of Damascus, the capital of Syria, is one of the largest and oldest mosques in the world. Umayyad Mosque is situated 210 metres south of Jāmi‘ al ‘Umarīyah.

The Sayyida Ruqayya Mosque is a Shia mosque and mausoleum complex, located in Damascus, Syria. The complex contains the grave of Ruqayya bint Husayn, the young daughter of Husayn. It is a holy site in Shia Islam.
