Jairoud is a city in southern Syria, administratively part of the Rif Dimashq Governorate, located northeast of Damascus in the Qalamoun Mountains. Nearby localities include ar-Ruhaybah, al-Qutayfah and Muadamiyat al-Qalamoun to the southwest, Yabroud, an-Nabek and Deir Atiyah to the north and al-Qaryatayn to the northeast. Jayrud is situated 10 km southeast of Ḑahr al Aswad.

Yabroud or Yabrud is a city in Syria, located in the Rif Dimashq governorate about 80 kilometres north of the capital Damascus. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics, Yabroud had a population of 25,891 in the 2004 census. Yabroud is situated 10 km north of Ḑahr al Aswad.
