Syangboche Airport is a domestic airport located in Namche Bazaar serving Solukhumbu District, a district in Koshi Province in Nepal. Syangboche Airport’s first and foremost challenge is its elevation at 3,780 m; it is exposed to some of the most extreme and capricious weather conditions in the world, with heavy winds, fog and snowfall. Syangboche Airport is situated 3½ km southeast of Thāmtāṅ.

Khumbila or Khumbu Yül-Lha, roughly translated as "God of Khumbu village" is one of the high Himalayan peaks in the Khumbu region of eastern Nepal within the Sagarmatha National Park. Mount Khumbila is situated 4 km northeast of Thāmtāṅ.
