Angus

Angus is a county in , which historically had as its main conurbation though this is now separately governed. Angus can be considered the birthplace not only of Scotland – the 1320 Declaration of first asserted the nation's sovereignty – but also of its grandparents.

is an industrial city and port, historically part of Angus county in northeast Scotland. It stands on the north bank of the River Tay, which here broadens out into the North Sea, and in 2022 had a population of 148,000.

is a small fishing port in Angus in north-east Scotland, 16 miles from Dundee, and with a population of 23,500 in 2022. It's best known for its red sandstone abbey, its local fish specialty "Arbroath Smokies", and as the scene in 1320 of Scotland's first documented assertion of independence, the Declaration of .

is the county town of Angus, 13 miles north of Dundee. It had a linen and jute industry in the 18th and 19th centuries but those have gone, so is now a commuter town for Dundee, with a population in 2020 of 14,000.
