Castine is a town in Hancock County in eastern Maine, United States. The population was 1,320 at the 2020 census. Dyce Head Light is a lighthouse located at the southernmost point of the Castine peninsula in Hancock County, Maine. Built in 1829 to guide vessels along the Penobscot River and into Castine Harbor, the lighthouse served the region's flourishing shipbuilding and lumber trade until its deactivation in 1937.
