is a town in Central Ostrobothnia, Finland, with a population of 48,000. It's the largest town in the region, with industry based on chemicals and metals. The old wooden town has been well-preserved, and is the main reason to visit.

is a town and municipality of . It is situated in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 5,246 and covers an area of 470.65 square kilometres, of which 2.41 km2 is water.
