The Huon and Far South is Australia's southernmost inhabited area in southern Tasmania with a population of 17,219. Hartz Mountains National Park

Hartz Mountains National Park is a national park in Southern Tasmania and is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Being only a little more than an hour drive from the state capital of Hobart, Hartz Mountains National Park is an easy-to-get-to park for wilderness hiking.
Huonville

Huonville is a town in the Huon Valley region of Southern Tasmania. It has a population of around 1,750 people, and is the hub of the Huon Valley.
Geeveston

Geeveston is a town of 600 people along the Huon Highway in Southern Tasmania. It's the gateway to Hartz Mountains National Park. Geeveston is the centre of Tasmania's apple and fruit-growing industry, and has also been highly reliant on the timber industry since the late 19th century.

Franklin is a small town of 444 in the Huon and Far South region of Southern Tasmania. The quiet riverside town sits along the western banks of the Huon River about 7 km southwest of Huonville, the regional centre of the Huon.
Southport

Southport is Australia's southernmost town, found in the Huon and Far South region of southern Tasmania. The small town of 149 was a whaling station in the 19th century, but today, it isn't known for anything, apart from its trivial status.
