Slains Castle is a ruined castle near Collieston in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is not to be confused with New Slains Castle, a separate building located five miles northeast.

Meikle Loch is an inland loch some miles north of Collieston, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is designated as part of the Ythan Estuary complex, along with the Sands of Forvie, as a Special Protection Area for wildlife conservation purposes. Meikle Loch is situated 1½ miles west of Broad Haven.

Whinnyfold or Whinneyfold is a small coastal village at the southern end of the Bay of Cruden in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Whinnyfold is a clifftop hamlet of fisher cottages built in the 1860s, replacing an older settlement one mile inland. Whinnyfold is situated 2½ miles northeast of Broad Haven.

Hatton is a village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland that lies on the A90 road, approximately equidistant from both Ellon and Peterhead. It has a biscuit factory that was once called Simmers – it was Hatton's only claim to fame, as it supplied biscuits to such upmarket shops as Marks and Spencers. Hatton is situated 4½ miles north of Broad Haven.
