Ein Ganim was the first moshav po'alim in Israel. The moshav was established in 1908 near Petah Tikva by members of the Second Aliyah and was named after the Levitical city of Ein Ganim, mentioned in the book of Joshua 21:29.

Petah Tikva, also spelt Petah Tiqwa and known informally as Em HaMoshavot, is a city in the Central District of Israel, 10.6 km east of Tel Aviv. It was founded in 1878, mainly by Haredi Jews of the Old Yishuv, and became a permanent settlement in 1883 with the financial help of Edmond Rothschild.
