Patterdale is a small village and civil parish in the Westmorland and Furness district of Cumbria, England. It is in the eastern part of the Lake District, and the name is also used for the long valley in which the village sits, also called the Ullswater Valley. Patterdale is situated 1½ miles west of Broad Crags.

Hartsop is a small village in the English Lake District. It lies in the Patterdale valley, near Brothers Water, Hayeswater and Kirkstone Pass. It consists of 17th-century grey stone cottages, like so many of its neighbours. Hartsop is situated 1½ miles southwest of Broad Crags.
